The Board of Education on March 15 voted to adopt an Instructional Calendar for 2023-2024 and to accept an offer from Child and Family Services to purchase Mullen Elementary School for $850,000. Mrs. Edholm-McNelis's Art students created an impressive collaborative mural of 8 inspirational women from history. The piece includes Ruby Bridges, Anne Frank, Malala Yousafai, Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, and Georgia O'Keefe.

The Tonawanda City School District announces our 2023 Mental Health Parent/Community Series. These hour-long presentations are designed to create awareness, educate, and support important aspects of wellness, mental health, substance abuse, and community resources. These presentations are open to anyone in the Tonawanda Community. All are welcome to attend.
Our District continues to take thoughtful and purposeful steps in recognizing emerging trends, engaging in conversation, and offering awareness and support in these important areas. Please consider joining us.

The Tonawanda City School District buildings and offices will reopen on Wednesday, December 28 and Thursday, December 29. No instruction will be held on these days.
The District will be closed on Friday, December 30 through Monday, January 2, as scheduled, to observe the New Year holiday.

Due to the widespread impact of the recent storm on our entire WNY region, the Tonawanda City School District will be closed tomorrow, Monday, November 21.
Erie County and other governmental agencies are taking actions and instituting closures that will impact our District and surrounding communities. Our primary focus continues to be the safety of our students, families, and staff that live in Tonawanda and the WNY region. Although our local community may not have experienced the significant impact of the storm weather as other neighbors, our focus continues to be our ability to provide a safe environment for all students, families, and staff members.
Please note that tomorrow will be a traditional "snow day" and that no remote learning or instruction will take place.
Due to the forecasted significant weather event in our region and varying weather models that could cause significant safety concerns and dangerous conditions, the Tonawanda City School District will be closed on Friday, November 18, 2022. This closure includes all activities and events scheduled for tomorrow.
Erie County and other governmental agencies are taking actions and instituting closures that will impact our District and surrounding communities. Our primary focus continues to be the safety of our students, families, and staff that live in Tonawanda and the WNY region. It is my hope that this announcement provides an opportunity for proper planning for child care and other necessary arrangements due to the closure of schools tomorrow.
