Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has provided advice on community-based testing options for children experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. A document titled "COVID-19 Testing Resources for Students in Erie County" is located at https://5il.co/107lm on the Tonawanda City School District website, www.tonawandacsd.org.
"If your child is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and you are seeking a negative test result so that they can return to school, you have several community-based testing options," the document says.

The Tonawanda City School District reminds parents and guardians of students that an exercise of the emergency early dismissal plan will take place on Friday, Oct. 1. All schools in the district will release students 15 minutes earlier than their regularly scheduled dismissal time. The exercise is mandated by the New York State Education Department. The district participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) and has qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for grades K-12. All students in grades K-12 will receive meals at no cost through the Community Eligibility Provision. A CEP application for the next eligibility period should be filled out and turned in as soon as possible to either your child(ren) homeroom or to the District Office, 100 Hinds St., Door #11 across from the tennis courts no later than Sept. 24, 2021. Last chance for senior pictures
Any senior who didn't have a senior photo taken at the summer portrait dates, or who does not hand in a photo from an outside photographer by Sept. 30, will automatically be scheduled for a portrait session on Oct. 28. This will be the last chance to have a senior picture taken and included in the 2022 yearbook. See Mrs. McNelis in Room 160 with questions.
