As library media specialist, Jennifer Patterson has spent the last 25 years in our district, building relationships with students and staff and helping the library grow along the way.
When Patterson first started, the library was a classroom-sized collection, and books were checked out with sign-out cards. Today, it is a full-size, automated library.
While a lot has changed over the years, Patterson says what she enjoys most about her job has stayed the same, and that’s helping a student at just the right moment. Whether it’s finding a book by call number or figuring out why a Chromebook isn’t working, those small moments remind her that students are learning, building relationships and trusting her to help them grow.
Patterson also says she is especially grateful for the people she has worked with and the support she has received along the way.
Tonawanda High School Principal Lyndsey Todaro said Patterson's energy, creativity and care “makes the library a place where students feel excited to read, explore, ask questions, and discover new interests.”
Join us in thanking Patterson for her dedication to helping the students of our district learn and grow.
