Dear Tonawanda Families,
We are excited to welcome back our students and families for the start of the 2026-2027 Fall Sports Season! The official start of the season, including tryouts and team practices, will begin in approximately one month, and we are looking forward to another great year of Tonawanda Timberwolves Athletics.
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) allows students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to participate in interscholastic athletics. At Tonawanda City Schools, we are proud to provide a wide variety of athletic opportunities that allow students to challenge themselves, build relationships, develop leadership skills, and be part of something bigger than themselves.
Participating in school sports is an important part of the overall educational experience. Athletics teaches valuable life lessons including commitment, teamwork, perseverance, accountability, sportsmanship, and leadership. Student-athletes learn how to set goals, overcome challenges, support their teammates, and represent their school and community with pride. Being a member of a team creates connections that often last well beyond a student’s high school career.
We encourage all eligible students to consider joining a team this fall, regardless of prior experience. Our coaches are committed to helping athletes grow, improve their skills, and create a positive team culture where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
