Dear Tonawanda Elementary School Families,
We are pleased to share that, through funding provided by the RECOVS Grant, the Tonawanda City School District has been able to purchase the majority of school supplies needed for students for the 2026-2027 school year for all students entering Kindergarten through grade 5.
As a result, families do not need to purchase school supply items that appear on the school supply lists shared with you by teachers. This even includes backpacks, headphones and water bottles.
Families will, however, remain responsible for supplying any personal items that are specific to their child's individual needs (as identified on their Teacher or Classroom Supply List).
These items may include:
Athletic sneakers or gym shoes
An extra change of clothing
Diapers or pull-ups (if applicable)
Photo albums
Any additional personal care items requested by your child's teacher
We are grateful for this one-time opportunity to reduce back-to-school costs for families for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year while ensuring that students have the materials they need for a successful start.
Additional information regarding the distribution of school supplies during Meet the Pack Night will be shared later this summer.
