The rain stayed away long enough for students to participate in the always-popular Turkey Trot at Tonawanda Elementary School last week.
After a brief warmup, each grade level from second grade to fifth grade had a chance to run the race around the neighborhood. Loved ones came out to show their support for the athletes.
Rain cancelled the Harvesters Walk for grades UPK-1 in the afternoon, but some of the littles made it outside to cheer on the older kids.
