Dear Parents/Caregivers,
There is a social media trend that has surfaced nationwide, including at our school, called the “Post-it darts” challenge. This activity involves students folding Post-it notes and then attaching staples or pushpins to create small, dart-like shapes, which they then launch throughout classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
While this may seem harmless at first glance, the practice poses several significant risks:
It creates distractions and disrupts learning environments, interfering with our students’ focus and engagement.
Thrown objects can cause accidental injuries to students, staff, or damage to school property.
Participation in these trends sometimes encourages unsafe behaviors or escalates into larger disruptions, undermining our culture of respect and responsibility.
We ask for your support in discussing the dangers of this trend with your child and emphasizing our shared commitment to a safe, respectful school environment. Please remind them of the importance of making positive choices and considering the impact their actions can have on others. Engaging in this trend may result in disciplinary consequences. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
Thank you,
Lyndsey Todaro, Principal
Renee Smith, Assistant Principal
