Research suggests that younger students should attend school earlier in the morning and teenage students should arrive at school later in the morning.  More schools are changing to this model to better meet the needs of all students by allowing for appropriate sleep habits, increased attendance, decrease tardiness, improved mental health, and maximized student achievement.  As we prepare to open our new elementary school in September 2023, this is the appropriate time in our district to consider any potential change in school start and end times.
