Dear Parents/Caregivers of High School students,
We are almost to the midway point of the school year and the second quarter is coming to a close. On Monday, January 19th, we are closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day. Beginning Tuesday, January 20th through Friday, January 23rd, 2026, we will be having Regents/Midterm exams. It is important for students to attend the day their exam is being administered. There is no make-up day for missing an exam.
Exam Times
Students taking a morning exam will need to arrive at school at regular arrival time and report to the Miller Gym. At promptly 8:00am, students will be admitted into the exam location. Teachers will provide students with testing directions and materials.
Students scheduled to take an afternoon exam will need to arrive at school by 11:45am and report to the Miller Gym. At promptly 12:00pm, students will be admitted into the exam location and teachers will provide students with testing directions and materials.
Meals
Breakfast will be offered in the morning as usual.
Students with an exam in the AM and PM will be offered lunch.
All meals will be served through the middle school.
Transportation
For those students who take the bus to school, buses will run as usual to and from school.
There will be a midday bus run as well to bring students to and from school if they only have 1 exam that day.
Exam Etiquette & Reminders
No cell phones or electronic devices- Each student will check in their cell phone and any additional electronic devices (Apple watches, tablets, etc) before sitting in their assigned seat for each exam. All electronic devices should be turned off.
No food or drink allowed during exams EXCEPT water!
REMEMBER to bring sharpened pencils and pens to each exam.
During exams, all school rules outlined in the Code of Conduct must be followed.
Your child has 3 hours from the start of the exam (unless you have accommodations per IEP or 504). If they show up late, they do not have extra time.
They can not leave and return to the exam. The only break they are able to get is a restroom break.
There is a required “sit time” for each exam. They can not leave before that time.
If they arrive late and past the 1 and 1/2 hour mark, they will not be allowed in.
If they miss a Regents exam, they will have to take it the next time it is offered (June, August). There are no make-ups given.

Tonawanda City School District students now have the chance to take free swim lessons.

Tonawanda High School is getting into the holiday spirit with a fun-filled Christmas Spirit Week! Students are invited to participate each day by dressing up and showing their festive pride as we count down to Christmas break.

Wear your favorite ugly Christmas sweater.Tuesday – Jingle Bell Rock Your Class Colors
Upperclassmen (Juniors and Seniors) wear green
Underclassmen (Freshmen and Sophomores) wear redWednesday – Winter Wonderland Wednesday
Wear winter colors (blue and white) and/or your favorite winter accessories.Thursday – Holiday Movie Character Day
Dress like any character from a holiday movie. Examples include Santa, the Grinch, or Rudolph.Friday – Pajama Day / Night Before Christmas Break
Wear your favorite holiday pajamas.

The THS Winter Concert was a truly memorable evening filled with incredible talent, holiday spirit and community pride. The students shined on stage, showcasing their hard work and passion through every performance. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to Mrs. Urbaniak and Mr. Rudroff for their dedication, creativity and leadership in making this concert such a success. Their commitment to our music program continues to inspire our students and brings joy to our entire school community.

Please save the date for our upcoming Middle School Holiday Spirit Week, taking place December 15–19! Students are encouraged to participate each day to show their holiday spirit and school pride.
Daily Themes:
Monday (12/15): Ugly Sweater Day
Tuesday (12/16): Deck out your House Team color with a mix of holiday
Wednesday (12/17): Winter colors and/or holiday accessories
Thursday (12/18): Dress as Santa, elves, etc.
Friday (12/19): Wear your favorite holiday pajamas (school appropriate)
Your homeroom teacher will provide a raffle ticket each day you participate. Tickets should be placed in the bin in the Middle School office to be entered for prizes from the Leaders of the Pack Team. Winners will be drawn on Friday, December 19.

Representatives from the college will visit during lunch periods to provide Instant Admissions for seniors when they complete their SUNY Erie application. Seniors will receive assistance with selecting a major while completing an application for Fall 2026.
