Tonawanda High School juniors and seniors have an exciting opportunity to represent New York State at the 2026 National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp), a prestigious summer program designed for students with a passion for science and innovation.
The NYSCamp will take place from July 11 through August 1, in West Virginia. This immersive, in-person experience brings together students from across the country to explore a wide range of fields in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).
Throughout the program, participants will engage in daily lectures and seminars led by renowned scientists, as well as hands-on directed studies alongside visiting and resident STEAM professionals. Students will have the opportunity to dive into topics across the natural sciences, physical sciences, computer science and creative arts, all while collaborating with peers who share similar interests.
One of the most unique aspects of the NYSCamp is that there is no cost to attend. Housing, meals, transportation and program supplies are all provided to selected participants, making this an accessible opportunity for eligible students.
The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026. Interested students must complete their application online through the National Youth Science Academy website.
For additional information about the program, students and families are encouraged to visit the NYSCamp webpage. Questions may also be directed to New York State coordinator Amalia Schiff at Amalia.Schiff@nysed.gov.
Students interested in expanding their knowledge, connecting with experts and peers, and experiencing an unforgettable summer of discovery are encouraged to apply.
