Five years ago, Lyndsey Todaro joined the Tonawanda City School District looking to take the next step in a career that had already taken her through several unique areas of education.
Todaro began her career as a special education teacher at Baker Victory Services before moving into administration, where she worked with students with severe emotional and behavioral needs. She also served as principal at the East Ferry Detention Facility.
After years in agency-based education, Todaro wanted to make the transition to public education. That brought her to Tonawanda, where she began as an assistant principal before taking on her current role as principal of Tonawanda High School.
Now five years into her time with the district, Todaro says the opportunity to lead THS and be a part of students’ lives remains one of the most meaningful parts of her career.
She prides herself in creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for students as they discover their strengths, pursue their goals, and grow into confident, compassionate young adults.
Todaro is a dynamic personality that easily balances the challenges of our work with the compassion and care for kids and staff that makes a difference to all of us each day.
