A school district is more than just teachers and students. From maintenance to clerks to school monitors, every position is important and vital to the success of our schools.
Tonawanda MS/HS School Monitor Philip Hankinson has been a fixture in our schools for the last five years. Hankinson started his work in our schools after retiring from a 31-year career with the Tonawanda Police Department.
Currently, he works in the Middle School cafeteria and security desk and said he has enjoyed his time with the district so far, being inspired by both the staff and students he has met over the years.
He is known for always helping staff, students and administrators in any way that is needed. Hankinson's efforts don’t go unnoticed. In the words of TMS Principal Kristine Strible, “Phil builds strong, respectful relationships with students, earning their trust while maintaining clear expectations. Through daily interactions—whether greeting students at arrival, circulating through hallways, or supervising transitions—he models a calm, consistent presence that helps students feel secure and valued.”
Join us in thanking Philip Hankinson for the past five years of dedication to our district and the students.
