Fletcher Elementary School held its annual Spelling Bee recently, wowing the audience with its sensational spelling talent that is its fourth- and fifth-grade students.
All fourth- and fifth-grade students participated in individual classroom spelling bees during the month of February, with the top three students from each classroom chosen to participate in the 2019 school-wide Spelling Bee.
The top three students from this school-wide competition will now compete at the Niagara Regional PTA Spelling Bee at Lyndonville Central School District on May 18. The fourth-place student in this competition will be named as an alternate.
Winners for the fourth grade include, after quite a lengthy battle, for first place: Elijah Castillo; taking second place is Eliana LaMonaco, in third place was Matthew Siminski and the runner up, Anthony Gambino, as alternate.
Winners for the fifth grade include, in first place: Jacob Moore; taking second place was Damon Frasier, in third place was Derek Leiker and as runner up, Colin Briggs.
Congratulations to everyone who participated and the best of luck to our Fletcher students as they advance to regionals!
