Tonawanda City School District officials accepted a donation of 4,000 children's masks for its elementary students from local businesses.

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Mary Beth Scullion and Mullen Elementary Principal Diana Nigro met with Sean J. Daly, president of McKeagan LLC of Niagara Falls and director of International Services at ROAR Logistics Inc., to receive the student masks. Mullen third-grade students Gabriella Sevenski and Alexandria Russ helped accept the donation, as well.

"The pandemic has heavily impacted available supply of personal protective equipment, as well as supply chain efforts throughout the world. The strain on local medical/nursing facilities to meet state regulated on-hand PPE requirements, as well as schools who are implementing their 'back-to-school' strategies with immense pressure to ensure the safety of all of their students, is ever increasing," Daly stated. "While we may not find our 'new normal' for quite some time, we can ease the transition by giving back within the community - and that's exactly what we have positioned ourselves to do."

"We are very grateful for this donation of children's masks for our students," Scullion said. "This pandemic has presented difficult challenges for our district and districts all across New York State, and these masks will help keep our students safe and healthy now that many have returned to in-person learning in our classrooms."

Also partnering with Daly for the donation was Robert Rich III, president of Three Sticks Marketing LLC and ROAR Logistics (a Rich Products subsidiary).
