Welcome back to the beginning of a New School Year. I realize it is still early in the summer, but the PPS office is experiencing the usual summer changes in anticipation of starting extended school year services (special education summer school), placing students in programs for the start of the school year in September and processing new referrals for evaluations and services.
The PPS office will be moving to a new area in the Middle/High School. Sometime in July, the PPS office will move to the former High School Main Office. This will assist Dr. Newton with administrative coverage during the arrival and dismissal times and will minimize any disruptions to instruction when CSE meetings need to occur. Our phone numbers and fax will remain the same. We may experience a brief interruption when we actually move but that should be invisibile to most individuals or service providers.
Also due to budgetary concerns, the FACT program has ceased operations. HOWEVER, should any family or individual require linkage or need the support of outside mental health services, they are encouraged to contact the PPS office directly. As always if there is a medical or serious need, the individual should call 911 immediately.
Please also note that NYS will require the district to move towards a state-wide adopted IEP and forms. The information will be required for IEP's that take effect in September of 2011. Staff will be busy training and recieving instruction on the new forms and documents. More to come in the next few months.

The Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) office of the Tonawanda City School District is available to assist, parents, students, faculty, staff and the community deal with specific academic, social/emotional, physical and management issues that may interfere student achievement, learning and activities of daily living.
